VEHICLE ANCHORING

STANDARD vehicle anchoring

Many European and Aluminum vehicles require special clamping conditions due to either the Aluminum content of the vehicle or the lack of pinch welds. And those that have pinch welds on the rocker may be bonded which cannot be held with standard Universal Pinch Weld Clamps due to clamping and pulling forces that will compromise the integrity of the bonding. All Car-O-Liner data sheets will show you the OEM clamping method required for the vehicle you are repairing. With Car-O-Liner you can be certain we have an application for every vehicle you need to repair. Many are available for rent so you won't have to make the investment if they are not needed frequently.

Back Plates are used on quite a few vehicles where clamping is allowed on the rocker pinch weld. However, there may be a reinforcements or gussets in the OEM suggested clamping location. Therefore, the Back Plates allow for clamping precisely at the OEM suggested strong  point in order to not compromise the integrity of the rocker during the repair process. Many are available for rent so you won't have to make the investment if they are not needed frequently.  However, they are not expensive and becoming more popular with the OEM's as they continue to increase the structural integrity of vehicles with AHSS.
